FRANKENSTEIN
Directed by Wyn Tootell
NODA REVIEW
This is the first time I have seen this very funny David
Swan panto and very well it was performed too.
A large cast with 16 principals the leading man Frankie
played by Oliver Franklin (no relation I am told) handled
the part well and seemed very much at home on stage. His
friend Heidi (Sam Hilton) not only matched him in
confidence but she had a beautiful singing voice.
Kodak the dog had a smashing bark but I would have
preferred it if Vicky Smith had stayed on all fours, it
ruined the illusion when she stood up.
We had nice character parts from David Hartley as Prince
Ludwigand and Chris Dixon as the Professor.
Then we had Miss Nelly (Barry Callander) and her Gals, and
all five were super especially Katie Mercer as Mable, and
Amanda Rogers as Constance.
Finally the two baddies of the piece Dracula (Allan Mayer
as you have never seen the Count before)) and his
overbearing Gran, Granular played with vigour by Joan
Adaway.
All this together with a good choreographer and a good time
was had by all. Oh yes it was!
