NODA Review
What a shame there weren't more people to see
this presentation of Cole Porters wonderful musical .the
night I saw it: it deserved better. It had an excellent
orchestra, wonderful costumes and a production which had
pace.
How nice to see so many young people on stage - the benefit
of having a youth theatre.
The "continuous joke " during the scene changing was well
done and the chorus movement in the background was well
noted and very effective, as were the five dancers. In
fact, the choreography for the whole show was very good.
There was excellent singing from both leads Patrick
Unsworth (Fred Graham) and Jean Kellie as Lilli Venessi.
Joanne Jones and Chris Higgin handled the parts of Lois
Lane and Bill Calhoun with aplomb
As usual, with this show, the gangsters stole it: John
Preston and Graham Evans were extremely enjoyable to watch
and "Brush Up Your Shakespeare" was executed very well.
This was a very enjoyable first visit to this theatre and I
look forward to the next. May I thank the theatre for their
hospitality and a wonderful evening.
